The Guardia Civil have arrested a 61 year old U.S. citizen at El Altet airport, Alicante. In a statement today, it was revealed that the man was carrying almost four kilograms of cocaine hidden in his luggage.
The arrest occurred last Thursday following an investigation that provided ”clear evidence” that in the near future a person would attempt to enter the country at El Altet.
Officers suspicions were raised by the attitude of of one of the passengers (CAFM), so they searched his luggage, inside which they found five decorative trays, with false bottoms, where a “white powder” was hidden, which proved to be cocaine.
Also found were four bottles of liquor in which more cocaine was found. Together with the plates the total weight of the cocaine was about 3649 grams.
