Six passengers have suffered minor injuries  as a result of a suburban train colliding with a wall at the end of track track at Mataró station (Barcelona).

The accident happened at 13:00 today, Friday. The six injured passengers have been transferred by ambulance to the Hospital de Mataró for medical examination.

The train operating company Renfe has launched an investigation into the collision, to clarify whether it was due to human error or a mechanical malfunction.

The incident has not affected the rail services.
