Local police officers on the Orihuela Costa have identified eight British children, suspected of vandalism against property, vehicles and public works.

The group is said to be responsible for damaged cars, furniture, gardens and public property in the La Florida urbanization, according to police sources.

The alarm was raised at around 18:30 on Sunday, when it was reported that a group of young people were breaking car mirrors, and causing other damage. In addition to this, it was reported that the youths were responsible for causing damage to safety fencing and other protectors at the work site of the Torrevieja desalination plant.

The participants were five boys and three girls between 15 and 17 years of age. They will be presented to the juvenile court.
