British woman found dead in hotel

Early this afternoon, the lifeless body of a British woman was found in a hotel room, near the oriolana urbanization of Cabo Roig, San Pedro del Pinatar, the apparent victim of stabbing to her neck.

An emergency unit from the SAMU ambulance group attended the scene and found an open wound to her neck, apparently caused by a knife, and a probable cause of her death. She was confirmed dead by the emergency crew.

The boyfriend of the victim, who had checked into the hotel at the same time, was not found at the scene.

Ataround 17:30 today, following a brief investigation and search, her male partner was located by police, who were searching for the man as a potential suspect in the incident. He was promptly arrested and is being questioned about the incident.

It is also alleged that the 24 year old male suspect was known to the police in the area, having been arrested on several occasions in recent times for numerous lesser offences, such as car theft.

Update:

The British man arrested yesterday as the alleged killer of a woman in an apartment on the Orihuela Costa (Alicante) had no prior complaints by male violence, according to the sub-delegate of the Government in Alicante, Encarna Llinares.

Although it was initially released that the victim was British, it has now been confirmed that she was in fact Irish.

The lifeless body of the girl was found at noon yesterday in the apartment of urbanization Aguamarina Cabo Roig with several knife wounds, including one to the neck. A male, thought to be her former partner, was arrested after a long pursute near Oliva (Valencia).
