Government encourages development of Buddhist studies

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship has signed a partnership agreement with the Soto Zen Buddhist Community to implement an online program of Buddhist studies.

According to informed sources today, through this agreement the Government will carry out various actions, such as updating their website and fund translations of texts, articles, books, illustrations and graphics.

The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Rafael Blasco, stressed today that for integration to be effective it is imperative that society as a whole know and understand the similarities and differences of different cultures, with the aim of achieving a climate of tolerance and mutual enrichment. “

The Government is supporting the civil society to achieve this knowledge through programs of their own design, and in this regard and supports specific grants for partnership agreements with entities from Catholic, Evangelical, Baptist, Muslim, Orthodox and Jewish followers.
