The Ministry of the Interior has awarded 25,5 million euro to the Valencian community, for the provision of helicopters to tackle the increasing problem of forest fires in the area. As well as extinguishing forest fires, they will be used to assist in emergency health coordination and other emergencies, as well as supporting the police on the ground.
According to the Official Journal of the Comunitat Valenciana (DOCV), this service has been awarded to the joint venture between the company INAER Helicopters and SAU-Mediterranean Forestry Society, SA.
