Heatwave warning – Spain
Twelve provinces are on the high risk list for excessively hot weather. The State meteorological agency (AEMET) has announced temperatures exceeding 40ºC in the next two days in the provinces of Jaén, Córdoba and Sevilla.
In another nine provinces, temperatures will oscillate between 36ºC and 39ºC. Those affected include Huelva and Granada (Andalucía); Badajoz and Cáceres (Extremadura), Madrid, and all of Castilla-La Mancha, except for Albacete.
AEMET urges the general public to take extra precautions during the heatwave, such as wearing sun cream and head protection, drinking at least two litres of water a day, and avoiding being outside between noon and 15.00hrs where possible.)
