Spain wildfires continue
Wildfires continued raging on Thursday around Spain, with thousands of hectares of vegetation burnt down and hundreds of people evacuated from their homes, Spanish National Radio reported.
Fires devastated more than 8 000ha in the northern region of Aragon, where 1 500 people were evacuated from six villages.
In north-eastern Catalonia, a fire which killed four firefighters on Tuesday was still out control. The blaze has already consumed 1 100ha of forest and bush, part of it in Els Ports nature park.
Fires forced a partial suspension of the high-speed rail link between Madrid and Barcelona.
Fires were also reported in the central region of Castile La Mancha, Alicante in the east and the Basque region.
