A REWARD to catch the killer of a Liverpool mum executed in one of the city’s most chilling recent murders was today upped to £25,000.
Kevin Parle is one the run and wanted to speak to in connection with the brutal murder of Lucy Hargreaves at her home in Walton.
The young mum-of-three, 22, was sleeping on a couch in the living room at the Lambourne Road property when masked men burst inside in the early hours of August 3, 2005.
Today, her heartbroken family were marking the fourth anniversary since her callous slaying, in the year when their daughter would have turned 26.
They set fire to the duvet under which she was sleeping before shooting her dead at close quarters three times.
Nobody has ever been convicted of her murder, but a Merseyside Police appeal to trace Parle, 29, has remained outstanding.
Detectives believe he may have fled to the Costa Blanca area of Spain, in the Torrevieja area where sightings were made in autumns 2005.
There were suggestions last year that Parle was in America, but that possibility has now dwindled.
Kenny, Lucy’s mum, said: “It’s inhuman what these men did and we want to appeal to anyone who knows anything to speak to the police.
“Why would anyone not come forward, why would they hide what they know? I
“I would ask people to rethink and think about what these criminals have done
and could do again.
“They have robbed Lucy’s children of their mother and us of a beautiful daughter – it’s a life sentence for all of us.”
