A head on crash at KM 81 of the N-332 at the Salinas de Santa Pola yesterday, resulted in two Guardia Civil officers being injured, as well as the two female occupants of the vehicle that collided with them whilst it was attempting an over-taking move.

The incident occurred when the driver of the car, who was returning to Madrid following a holiday in the area, was attempting an overtaking maneuver. The car struck a patrol car head-on which was travelling in the opposite direction towards Cartagena.

As a result of the collision, the two Guardia Civil officers were injured, as well as the two women, one of which had to be rescued by fire fighters. Both women, mother and daughter, were taken to Hospital General de Elche.
