Toilet paper sales drop

20090920toilet-rollEach Spanish household, on average, used 106,6 kilos of toilet paper in the last year, representing a 2,4% drop on the same period the previous year, in which 109 kilos per household were used, as revealed by the analysis of TNS Worldpanel.

Regarding money, each home spent a euro more than the previous year, due to an increase of 3,5% in the cost of this product.

The toilet paper market in Spain is worth more than 363 million euro per year, represents 46% of the total business of household paper products which is also completed by wet wipes (21%), kitchen roll (15%), paper napkins (11%) and tissues (7%).

In the study, it shows that Galician households buy more toilet paper than the average with 132,4 kilos in the last year, while Castile and Leon do not even buy 100 kilos per household. In the Basque area, consumption rose from 113,0 to 114,9 kilos per household. In Andalusia 107,1 kilos household, Madrid 102 kg, Catalonia 101,3 kg and Valencia 100,9 kg per household.
