The middle-aged woman was found dead in her home shortly before 05:00 in the Mallorcan town of Santanyi, showing signs of violence, and apparently murdered by her husband, in what could constitute a new case of gender violence, as confirmed to Europe Press sources of the head of the Guardia Civil de Palma.

The man, of 47 years of age and with the initials GVC, was arrested in the same house where the events occurred by the Guardia Civil officers who attended the scene, located at 46 calle Sol, after a 12 year old child had attended the barracks, stating that her parents were fighting. Upon arrival at the house, they located a female, CBG, of 36 years of age, showing signs of violence and apparently dead.

A knife was located at the scene, which Guardia Civil officers believe may have been used, whereas the ambulance services told Europa Press that the cause of death was a head injury. In any case, a doctor of Santanyi confirmed the woman to be dead, shortly after she was found.

The emergency services have provided a psychologist to tend to the two daughters, aged 3 and 12 years of age, who were in the building at the time of the tragic event.
