Tower FM Benidorm winner in RTN

The Round Town News have an article about the winner of the Tower FM Benidorm DVD…

Mark Nolan from Tower FM has told us how pleased he is that there were such a phenomenal number of entries to the Tower FM Benidorm DVD competition.

Last Sunday on the Sunday Siesta, Mark told us the answers to the two questions that you had to answer in order to enter the competition. Question 1 was “What is the name of the hotel complex where the guests in Benidorm are staying?” The answer to that question was The Solana, which can be seen just about everywhere in the show, on the side of the bus, the building, the wrist bands etc. Question 2 was a lot more difficult, “What is the name of the bar which is next door to Mel´s shop?” The answer to which was The Mirage Bar.

About three quarters of those who entered got the right answers, but quite a few of you answered Neptunes as the name of the bar. A good answer, but not the right one.

The winner was chosen by random from all of the entries received and announced live on the show last Sunday. Jan Williams will be the lucky recipient of this unique and exclusive prize, a DVD of series 2 of the hit comedy show, signed specially by the creator and writer Derren Litten, Bafta winning Director Sandy Johnson as well as stars of the show Steve Pemberton (Mick), Siobhan Finneran (Janice), Sheila Reid (Madge), Geoffrey Hutchings (Mel) and Jake Canuso (Mateo).

It is such a shame that there could only be one winner, commiserations to everyone who entered but didn´t make it this time.

On Benidorm this week, the Oracle (Johnny Vegas) is given the run around by a blind date with a very big secret. Brandy (Sheridan Smith) seduces Mateo (Jake Canuso) when Martin (Nicholas Burns) isn’t looking. Mel (Geoffrey Hutchings) decides he is going to buy a local tourist spot Peacock Island and tries to find the mysterious Spanish owner. So tune into ITV 1 on Friday night at 10pm to enjoy that, or the repeats on Monday night on ITV 2.

Remember to tune into The Sunday Siesta on Tower FM with Mark Nolan this week, between 1 pm and 4 pm, on 89.9fm across the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida and to the world via the internet on www.towerfm.net. More great music, TV-talk, what´s on in and around Torrevieja, UK and Spanish music charts and a whole lot more.
