Fake viagra gang arrested in Alicante

The officers have been involved in Calpe (north of Alicante coastline) the largest cache of such substance in Spain (160,000 fake Viagra pills) and arrested five people who distributed the drugs through a courier company.

Customers buying the BZP and fake Viagra over the Internet and the five detainees, two Spanish, one Italian, one Venezuelan and Iranian-have already gone to court accused of a crime against public health, three of which have been sent to prison by court order. In particular, agents have seized 160,000 fake Viagra pills, 15 kilograms of BZP (benzylpiperazine) powder, 24 kilograms of Xanax pills (anxiolytic) and 24.9 kilograms of a gel of a substance called Kamagra, whose effects are similar to those of Viagra, among other products.

Detainees were accused of receiving, storing, cutting, preparing, and distributing significant amounts of viagra to Spain and several European countries, according to the sources. The group got the viagra from India and China, and distributed the drugs in Spain, without any medical and sanitary control.

In the operation, officers have also been involved a “mechanical device designed to encapsulate” these products, some 16 kilos of empty containers to prepare about 7,000 pills in total units and “amounts” of padded envelopes to send the viagra, and a box of Botox, a substance used in the treatment of aesthetics.
