The prosecutor has requested 31 years in prison for each of the four British suspects, charged with the brutal murder of a man Benidorm.
The crime occurred in August 1996 and, according to the classification of the prosecutor, the four defendants, all British, devised a plan to kill the victim.
The hearing of this case began yesterday in the Court of Alicante. None of the accused admitted their involvement in the events. One of the suspects had previously blamed the other three suspects in the case, but retracted that claim in court.
The prosecution maintains that defendant Roy David, devised a plan to assassinate his victim, Jan Yuri Silvenkas.
Contact was made with a Paul Flavell to carry out the crime in exchange for 12,000 euros. Flavell then enlisted the help of two other defendants, Simon Vernege and Frederichks Griffith, who allegedly carried out the attack in the home of the victim.
The case continues in court.
