Camping in the Valencian region on the increase

Last September, the Region of Valencia registered the second highest number of overnight stays in campsites among travellers from Spain and abroad. Specifically, campsites in the Region of Valencia registered 382,321 overnight stays, putting it only behind Catalonia, according to the latest Occupancy Survey for Non-Hotel Tourist Accommodation carried out by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

This figure represents year-on-year growth of 3.8%, which is higher than the national average, which has increased 2.5%. In fact, 42,572 travellers chose to spend their holidays in campsites around the Region of Valencia, with an average stay of 8.98 nights, longer than in the other regions of Spain.

Looking at specific tourist areas, the Costa Blanca coastline registered the highest average length of stay among tourists choosing to stay at campsites (14.6 nights). Benidorm, on the other hand, remains the most popular tourist spot among people travelling from abroad in terms of the number of overnight stays (122,576).
