BRITISH DETECTIVES SEARCH FOR MAN IN ALICANTE
Multilingual posters and flyers are to be distributed across Alicante in the hope of tracing a man wanted by British Detectives in connection with a multi million pound heroin smuggling operation.
Shashi Dhar Sahnan (51), who is subject to a European Arrest Warrant, is wanted in connection with the importation of significant quantities of high grade heroin into the United Kingdom. Detectives believe Sahnan is currently in the Alicante area of Spain and are appealing for the public's help in locating him. Now dozens of posters are being put up across the region with an image of Sahnan, in the hope that someone will recognise him and come forward and let officers know of his whereabouts. Hundreds of flyers will also be distributed to people living in the area and also to local police.
Four men, aged 43, 44, 47 and 65 have all been charged with offences relating to the importation and supply of the heroin. There is currently an active trial in the United Kingdom involving these four men.
Detective Constable Kevin Hames, from Leicestershire Constabulary in the United Kingdom, who is leading the investigation, said: “We urgently need to trace Sahnan. We have information to suggest that he has been living in the Alicante area of Spain and we are appealing for help in tracing him. I would be very grateful for the help of the local residents and the expatriate community to try and help me find this man. “Sahnan wears a hearing aid in his right ear. We are asking people to look very closely at this picture, do you recognise the face? Have you seen him in your area? “If you know where he is, please do not approach him, but call the Spanish law enforcement agencies immediately. We can assure you any information will be treated with the utmost confidence and if people are fearful of giving their names, they can contact Crimestoppers on 900 555 111, where they can call anonymously to help us uncover UK criminals.”
I’ve looked into this further and we have got a photo of Shashi Dhar Sahnan.
However, I need to emphasise that it’s fine for you to issue this in the Spanish Media, but not to the UK Media, as there is an active court case and UK Media would be at risk of being in contempt of court.
