Violent gang Los BLOOD dismantled

The Guardia Civil has dismantled the violent gang know as Los Blood, a gang that began in South America and spread to Madrid, Valencia and Alicante, in an operation that has brought 39 young people, including ten minors, and different nationalities into the judicial system.

Those arrested are accused of crimes of conspiracy, drug trafficking, causing injuries, threats, coercion, burglary and illegal possession of weapons.

In operation “Carpetazo”, six house searches were conducted in Torrevieja and Madrid, the agents also found extensive documentation about the gang, including their doctrine and laws relating to membership.

The investigations were launched mid last year when the Guardia Civil in Alicante found that in the town of Torrevieja had become a central point for the gang.

The members consisted of young people aged between 14 and 25 years who marked their territory using graffiti and not hesitating to use violence to appear as the dominant gang in the area. For this reason, they were often involved in frequent fights.

In addition, they controlled the retail drug trade in certain places of entertainment, and were related to countless petty thefts.

The Guardia Civil operation that has led to the dismantling of the gang and was developed in three phases.

The first phase took place in Torrevieja last October, when officers were able to dismantle the core of Los Blood, with the arrest of 16 of its members, including four children, 13 men and 3 women from Ecuador , Cuba, Colombia, Chile, Ukraine and Morocco.

In a second phase, developed in November, the investigation identified the remaining gang members located in the town of Torrevieja.

On this occasion, 19 men aged between 16 and 21 years of age and 6 children were arrested of Ecuadorian, Colombian, Chilean, Romanian and American origin.

With the information that was received after the first arrests, the officers detected the existence of branches of the gang in Madrid and Valencia, which have been dismantled during the month of January.

The last detained in Madrid and Valencia are all males between 18 and 24 years of age and of Colombian and Ecuadorian nationality.

With these latest arrests, the Guardia Civil have now totally dismantled this dangerous gang.

All detainees have already been made available to the judicial authorities.
