Spain Due to Receive 3 LNG Tankers Tomorrow
The three ships Spain is scheduled to receive, Empresa Naviera Elcano SA’s Castillo De Villalba, BW Shipping Group’s LNG River Orashi, and Knutsen OAS Shipping AS’s Sestao Knutsen, can carry 419,271 cubic meters of LNG, equivalent to two days of Spain’s daily consumption.
France will receive one tanker, Mitsui OSK Lines Ltd’s Cheikh Bouamama, the Bloomberg data showed. The vessel can haul 74,245 cubic meters of LNG, about 37 percent of the country’s daily consumption.
Italy will also receive one tanker, Eni SpA’s LNG Portovenere, which can move 63,957 cubic meters of LNG, equivalent to 18 percent of Italy’s daily consumption.
On the export side, at least seven tankers are scheduled to arrive in natural-gas producing countries such as Trinidad and Tobago, Qatar, and Algeria, the data showed.
LNG is gas that is cooled to a liquid for transport by ship to markets not connected by pipelines. The fuel is received at import terminals and converted back to a gaseous form so it can be piped to users.
