Giant waves killed two passengers on cruise ship in Mediterranean

Giant waves slammed into a cruise ship off the coast of Marseille  killing two passengers, a German and an Italian, and injuring 14 others.

Reports said two cruise liner passengers were killed after the rouge waves hit the luxury liner Louis Majesty and blew out several windows.

The Greek coast guard said the accident occurred near the French Mediterranean port of Marseille as the Cypriot-owned Louis Majesty was sailing from Barcelona to the Italian city of Genoa with 1,350 passengers and 580 crew members on board.

The Marseilles coastguard spokesman said the waves were approaching 30ft high and may have been part of an isolated tsunami.
