Jazz inundates Peñíscola

The 2010 edition of the Peñíscola International Jazz Festival which, until 24th July, will be filling the city with jazz, will be incorporating into this year´s programme a new series of concerts by local musicians from the provinces of Valencia and Castellón.

Make the most of this wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beaches of Castellón Costa Azahar, visit the parish church of Santa María, the Castle or the Hermitage dedicated to the “Virgen de la Ermitana” and, then, prepare to relax to the rhythms of the Peñíscola International Jazz Festival.

The Hotel Don Carlos will be hosting a concert every Saturday afternoon and, specifically on 4th July, the Onda Big Band will also be performing at this venue. Furthermore, four top international musicians will be headlining this year's line-up: Marcus Miller, one of the greatest living jazz legends, will be performing on 2nd July. On 9th July, Herbie Hancock will be taking over the stage, and on 16th July it will be the turn of the trumpeter Tom Harrell.

Finally, on 24th of the same month, the North American singer-songwriter Madeleine Peyroux will be bringing the festival to a close. Peyroux is one of the great jazz voices of today. Furthermore, Thursday evenings are reserved for free open-air concerts taking place at the foot of the Castle.
