The XII ‘Trofeo de S.M. La Reina’ Cup weighs anchor in Valencia
The Valencia Royal Sailing Club will be hosting, on 2nd, 3rd and 4th July, the XII Trofeo de S.M. La Reina – Regata Homenaje a la Armada – XXIII Copa Almirante Sánchez Barcáiztegui. This is one of the most important sailing events in the country, as Cruiser Class and Platú 25 yachts go head to head.
The Royal Sailing Club of Valencia will be holding a maximum of five trials on 2nd, 3rd and 4th July for RI, ORC 670, X-41 and X-35 classes. The Platú 25 yachts, on the other hand, will be taking part in a maximum of six trials on 3rd and 4th July.
José Cusí´s Bribón-Movistar Jaime Pont´s La Revoltosa, and Dani Maestre´s Fermax, reigning champion of the Region of Valencia´s Platú 25 circuit, and Manu Weiller´s Iberdrola have already signed up for this regatta, one of the most important in the country.
Furthermore, the proximity of the Platú 25 World Championships in Alicante makes it highly likely that some of the best Platú crews in the world will be present, so you´re guaranteed a great show.
The “Trofeo de S.M. la Reina” Cup is also the second event in the VII Memorial Juan Moreno, a regional competition launched in 2004 to pay tribute to the sporting achievements of this illustrious regatta sailor and member of the Royal Sailing Club of Valencia´s Board of Directors, Juan Moreno.
Manu Weiller´s crew will be looking to defend the title won last year, whilst the team from La Revoltosa, led by Jaime Pont, will be giving their very best in their home waters.
