World Cup 2010: Spain are thinking not only about Germany, but lifting the trophy too

Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta has declared that it will take a “complete game” from the European champions to defeat Germany and book their place in the World Cup final.

Iniesta described the Germans as a great team and expects to see an open, attacking game on Wednesday.

The Barcelona star believes at this stage of the tournament, there are no favourites for the championship.

“We´re looking forward to this game starting so we can lead the team to the final,” he told a press conference. “We´re not just thinking about the semi-finals, we´re thinking about the final and lifting the World Cup. That would be great.

“We must play a very complete game to win. Germany is a great team, but we really want to be in the final. The logic says it will be an open game in which the two attack. The important thing is that we can play our game, have the ball. That would be a very nice.

“There are no favourites at this point in the World Cup. We must be convinced that we will play the final.”
