Carles Puyol had a royal flush in his cheeks when he stepped out of the shower after Spain´s World Cup semi-final win over Germany.

There to greet him was Queen Sofia of Spain and a bunch of grinning team-mates as the mop-topped match winner had nothing but a towel to cover his modesty.

The unplanned royal visit saw Spain´s finest quickly scampering around the dressing room trying to kick bits of kit out of the way.

After shaking hands with every player as a gesture of congratulation, Queen Sofia turns to see a dripping wet Puyol quickly tying his towel around his waist.

Having scored the only goal of the game to book Spain´s place in Sunday´s World Cup final, Puyol is soon back into his stride.

With towel firmly in place, the hairy half-back rejoins his team-mates as they chant his name.

And no doubt they´ll be hoping the Barcelona battler doesn´t head for an early bath on Sunday either.
