Spain’s sexy museum for sale
A Spanish erotic museum housing more than 800 exhibits is for sale on eBay – at a starting price of 300 000 euros .
Around 40 000 curious tourists pass through the Barcelona Museum of Erotica each year, which show the owner´s private collection of pornography and exotica from around the world.
The Danish businessman who owns Barcelona´s Museum of Erotica is selling it because he wants to focus on other interests, museum representative Raquel Cano told the German Press Agency dpa.
Cano did not want to name an eventual price for the museum, located in the heart of Barcelona, but the starting price given by eBay is 300 000 euros.
The museum, which was opened in 1997, houses objects spanning millennia and come from regions including Europe and the Far East.
The museum deals with subjects including the erotic role of woman, sadomasochism, and Spanish erotic cinema.
“The museum is sold online, because that method makes it possible to reach a large number of possible buyers, and because the museum´s unusual nature made it difficult for it to be sold through conventional channels,” Cano said.
The museum is not the only one marketed by eBay, which sold an Elvis is Alive Museum in 2007, the Museum of Erotica said. – Sapa-dpa
