Benidorm Blogging

If you were at Alicante airport this weekend, you may have been lucky to have bumped into a famous face or two.

In fact, you may have had some well known people on your flight. Why? Because this weekend the cast arrived into Benidorm to start filming the 2010 Xmas special of the ITV comedy show.

The production team are already in place, working hard behind the scenes. The filming scripts were issued, but the reception of the Solana hotel seemed to be taking a little longer than usual to build. None the less, it is still expected to be ready in time for the first call of “action” in about a week.

This time, when filming, the stars have been given special photograph cards to sign autographs on, so if you happen to be in Benidorm and see them shooting, you are welcome to ask your favourite for one of these.

This will hopefully spare the blushes of the cast, especially after the likes of Jake Canuso (Mateo the barman) was asked to sign a child´s colouring book at Alicante airport after the last series filming ended.

The wrist bands for the Solana all inclusive resort are a very festive red and white this year and with a whole host of surprise guests, it is set to become a real bumper bundle of joy.

Once filming does start, we hope to keep you updated with all the behind the scenes gossip and pictures. We have an exclusive invitation to visit the set, so you can be sure inknowing that whatever we know, we will tell you, but we´ll try not to spoil any surprises.

That´s what Xmas is all about, after all.
