LO CRISPIN GOLF SOCIETY 1 FEBRUARY

Our members seemed to like the idea of playing Bonalba as 40 members entered the individual stableford competition. It was the first time the Society had played there and any fear that it was too far to travel was soon dispelled as it only took 45 minutes, which was mostly motorway, to get there. We were offered a very good price for the game and with car sharing the day proved a lot less costly than going to some other courses.

It was a busy day at Bonalba with another Society going out before us, so the round was five and a half hours, but with the sun shining we were happy to amble along. The slope for the course was generous as well, giving a feel good factor and hope of a good score. The holes were varied and interesting so we will be going there again.

The scores were as follows:
Gold Division: 1st Gail Coultate 30 pts, 2nd Colin Ranson 29pts, 3rd Meirion Roberts 27pts on count back.
Silver Division: 1st Padraig O'Brien 35pts, 2nd Mike Cutts 29pts, 3rd Brian Rendell 28pts.
Bronze Division: 1st Don Oliver 34pts, 2nd Danny McErlean 32pts, 3rd Paul Carter 29pts.

Nearest the pins: Malcolm Morrison hole 4, Robin Rolfe hole 8, John Sanchez hole 11 and Brian Rendell hole 14.

Three people had 2s, Malcolm Morrison, Martin Collins and Brian Rendell, they shared a pot of €40.
Our free game raffle was won my Gail Coultate.

We meet again at Roda on the 15th February for the first major of the season, the Claret Jug and, as usual, a meal and entertainment has been arranged for the evening together with the prize giving at the Lo Crispin Tavern.
