27 happy golfers were welcomed by the sun shining and the birds singing at Mar Menor, although 2 were waiting at Roda, wondering why noone else was there, you were only 2 weeks early lads, never mind.

Our Captain (Chris Blown) had decided on a singles stableford format, with a "guess how many fairways hit off your drive" for our cancer charity, this was won by Tony Huggins, (165). The main competition was won by "Mr Reliable" Steve Dixon, (drinks on me lads !!) with 39 points. 2nd Steve Naish 34 points, 3rd Dave Butler with 33points on c/b. Best front 9Dave Naylor (18) Best back 9. Kedrick Rhodes (18) Par 3s, Robin Hanna Par 4s Don Martin Par 5s Tony Huggins. N.T.Ps 2nd Dave Naylor 14th Liam O,Brian 17th Steve Thomas. Andy Shuttle won the twos pot. Great day, good course, expensive refreshments. We returned to Marinasol Bar/Restaurant Cabo Roig, (our sponsers)for our presentations, our thanks to Maz and her girls for looking after us and providing all those lovely sandwiches, very nice to see some of our W.A.G.S. Turn up, thanks ladies. Thanks also to Dave Naylor and Mick Reeves for all the hard work on the handicaps. The next game is at Roda on Tuesday 14th, It will be a team event.
