ELITE GOLF SOCIETY AT LA FINCA SATURDAY 4TH FEBRUARY 2012

A freezing cold day at La Finca for the Elite members and the competition format of an individual Medal, from the yellow tee plates.
Congratulations to all the players for completing their rounds on what was the coldest day I have experienced on the golf course in the nine years I have lived in Spain.
The combination of bitterly cold weather and a medal format where every shot counts, proved too much for the majority of the players, but as always some of the players managed to return some good scores considering the bitterly cold wind.
Our winner today was Jack Simpson, Jack returned a very good score of net 73, just one stroke over his handicap. To be honest this score on a day like today was equal to several shots lower. Well done Jack!
In second place with a net score of 77 strokes was Paul Guest and third place was taken by our Vice Captain Stuart Tosh, also with a net 77. Stuart losing out on second place after a countback over the last 9 holes.
Our nearest the pin winners were Bruce Waddell on the 3rd hole, Mikel Olsen on the 6th, Charlie Little on the 13th and Jack Simpson on the 16th.
Our two's competition was rolled over to next Saturday and our best dressed golfer was Dave Friedman, hard luck Dave I hope the wine is more enjoyable than the golf was today.
